According to a 2016 report by the Huffington Post USA about the 12 best world destinations where to live or retire, the Abruzzo is at the 5th place. This choice is due, first of all, to the nature. In Abruzzo are indeed hosted three National Parks (Abruzzo, Latium and Molise National Park; Gran Sasso and Laga Mounts Park; Majella National Park); Sirente-Velino Regional Park; more than thirty Natural Reserves… a real guinness that covers more than a third of the Regional territory.  It is not a case if the Abruzzo is also known as the “Greenest Region of Europe”.

Into the many protected areas, along the Appennines, the hinterland and the coast, are preserved the 75% of the vegetal and animal species of the whole European continent. A rich natural heritage that deserves to be discovered!
